Structural and magnetic investigations of Fe2O3–TeO2 glasses

چکیده
A series of tellurite glasses containing Fe2O3 with the nominal composition x(Fe2O3)–(1 x)(TeO2), where x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20, have been synthesized and investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and magnetization techniques. The Te3d core level spectra for all glass samples show symmetrical peaks at essentially the same binding energies as measured for TeO2 indicating that the chemical environment of the Te atoms in these glasses does not vary significantly with the addition of Fe2O3. Furthermore, the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of each peak does not vary with increasing Fe2O3 content which suggests that the Te ions exist in a single configuration, namely TeO4 trigonal bipyramid (tbp). The O1s spectra are narrow and symmetric for all compositions such that oxygen atoms in the Te–O–Te, Fe–O–Fe and Te–O–Fe configurations must have similar binding energies. The analysis of the Fe3p spectra indicates the presence of Fe ions only, which is consistent with the valence state of the Fe ions determined from magnetic susceptibility measurements. 2006 Elsevier B.V. Luminescence Properties of TeO2-LiF-Gd2O3 Glasses
In this work, the structural properties and spectroscopic behavior 80 mol.%TeO2-20mol.%LiF glasses which were doped with 0. 05, 0. 2 mole% Gd2O3 have been studied. It was shown that, by increasing the amount of Gd2O3 the glass stability was decreased. The PL emissions at 431nm and 627nm wavelengths were distinguished by 320nm excitation. The FT-IR analysis showed deformed TeO4 groups in these ...
متن کاملDetermination of the activation energy of crystallization based up on Ozawa and Kissinger formalisms and thermal stability of V2O5-NiO- TeO2 glasses by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
In the present research work, (60-x)V2O5-xNiO-40TeO2 amorphous bulk compositions with different molar percentages of 0≤x≤20 mol%, were prepared by well-known rapid melt-quenching method. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different heating rates (φ) was used to thermal analyze and to obtain more insight in to the thermal stability, glass forming tendency and so calorimetric characteris...

A series of sodium iron germanate glasses, with general composition 0.3Na2O±xFe2O3±(0.7 ) x)GeO2 (06 x6 0:15), has been prepared by conventional melting and casting. The chemical states of the various elemental components have been investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) from fracture surfaces produced in situ. The analysis of the Fe 3p core level spectra of the glasses which con...
متن کاملStudy of the effect of chemical reduction agent on the synthesis and structural properties of WO3-TeO2 and MoO3-TeO2 two-dimensional compounds.
Preparation of two-dimensional nanostructures of WTe2 and MoTe2 by chemical solution synthesis methods is of great importance. In different synthesis methods, different precursors and concentrations are used. In this paper, we used the chemical reduction reaction method from solution for our analysis. Binary compounds of WO3 - TeO2 and MoO3 - TeO2 were prepared in two processes with reduction a...
